Sunil Sharma Asks admn to construct Parking, Toilets in Kishtwar Town
KISHTWAR, MAY 16- Minister of State for PWD (R&B) and Revenue Mr. Sunil Sharma today instructed the administration to construct parking and public utilities in Kishtwar town for the convenience of the public .
The Minister accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mr. Mohammad Javaid Khan, SSP Kishtwar Mr. Yougal Manhas and other District Officers inspected the main road from Dak Bunglow to Bus Stand. Mr. Sharma said that there is immediate need to construct viable and feasible parking spaces along the entire stretch as commercial as well as personal vehicles are being parked on the road side which create problems in the smooth movement of traffic. He asked the authorities to use open spaces from Dak Bunglow to Bus Stand Kishtwar for developing parking slots within shortest possible time. He said this would largely ease traffic congestion in the town. He also said that no vehicle should be allowed to be parked on the road side.
While noticing the leakage of drinking water pipes at various spots on the main road, Mr. Sharma directed XEN PHE Division Kishtwar to ensure that all the leakages are plugged without any further delay.
Mr. Sharma, while inspecting the lanes and drains directed Executive Officer Municipality Kishtwar to mobilize his men and machinery to clean all the lanes and drains of the main road and interior areas of the town . He also asked him to make sure that proper cleanliness and sanitation is maintained in the town.
The Minister also directed to construct Public utility Toilets in the identified locations in the town. Minister also directed EO Municipality Kishtwar to open up the already constructed Toilet Complex near ITI Kishtwar which was constructed in 2009 and is locked.
Minister also inspected the ITI Ground Kishtwar and suggested to use a portion of it for paid parking. He said the place is feasible and viable and can accommodate about 500-800 small and medium vehicles. Mr. Sharma passed on spot directions to the concerned and also directed SSP Kishtwar not to tolerate any parking of vehicles on main road.
The Minister also directed XEN PDD Division Kishtwar to shift the electricity poles and distribution lines to facilitate repair and widening of the roads.
Later the Minister also visited Ashiana- a Home for Orphans.
The Chairman Ashiana Mr. Sanjeev Parihar apprised the Minister about the problems being faced by them in running the Orphanage. Mr. Sharma distributed soup and sweets among the children. He assured that all necessary and additional facilities would be provided to the orphanage for the benefit of children and its smooth functioning.
