Jammu, August 5: A petition has been filed against the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah for alleged wrong disclosure of the actual value of assets in the affidavit submitted to the election commission in the 2014. The misquoted property in question is in the name of his now estranged wife, Payal Nath and his two teenaged sons Zamir and Zahir.
The accusation by the Supreme court lawyer is that the working president of National Conference, Omar Abdullah, did not completely disclose the immovable and movable assets in the name of not only his wife but also his two children who are dependent on him.
In the affidavit, Omar has kept his assets separate from Payal’s and has mentioned not applicable in the column where Payal’s movable and immovable assets are to be mentioned. It is pertinent to mention that Omar had filed for divorce in 2013. The hearing in the case is on 6 August.
Meanwhile, Supreme Court Lawyer, Ajay Agrawal, had filed the petition against Omar Abdullah last year for allaged false disclosure of assets.
