JAMMU, JANUARY 29 – For effective implementation of traffic enforcement laws in district Samba, Kathua, Rajouri & Poonch, surveillance cameras have been installed to monitor traffic violations and for any violation observed challan will be sent on the address of the vehicle owner.
Besides, violation by any interstate vehicle shall also be checked and accordingly violation cases will be sent to the concerned RTO/ARTO for cancellation of DL/RC/RP etc.
Moreover, special drives have also been launched against visible offences which are the main cause for accidents including driving without DL, use of mobile phone while driving, riding without crash helmet, triple riding, over speeding, driving without seat belt etc. in which human lives are directly involved. Stern action is being taken against such violators who drink and drive and cases of such violators for cancellation of their DL were sent to RTO concerned. 2 cases of DL cancellation that were found driving in a drunken state were sent to concerned RTO in the month of December.
During the month of December 2015 and January 2016 (upto 26th January 2016) Traffic Rural Jammu has challaned 18074 vehicles and an amount of Rs.2334850 has been realized as fine.
As a part of ongoing special drive, launched by DySP, DTI and SOs (T) of Traffic Police Rural Jammu under the supervision of Dushyant Sharma, Supdt of Police Traffic Rural Jammu has launched another special drive against violators who play tape records in their vehicles while driving, has been launched from 27-01-2016 and violators are being booked under MVA. All field officers have been directed for showing zero tolerance against violators indulging in traffic violations and putting human lives in danger.
