Suspected militants seen in Kathua; Search Operation On

Kathua, July 3 : On Saturday morning, after the news of suspected militants being seen in the Kathua district of Jammu spread, the security forces spread out searching every nook and corner.

SSB along with the Police teams conducted a search operation and ransacked the Rajbagh area of the district. The forces probed the adjoining areas and questioned the occupants. The road connecting the National Highway with Chak Haria Hiranagar was shut down by the security forces and no stone was left unturned.

After hours of search, the forces landed with nothing. The Police have called this operation as the Routine Sanitization drive.

As per the intelligence agencies, on the route of Chak Haria that falls under the jurisdiction of Rajbagh Police station, suspected men in the army attire were seen early in the morning. Soon afterwards, the entire area was locked down and search began.

Evidently, the annual Holy pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath started yesterday and as a result the entire state is on a high alert with suspected militant movements being speculated during the yatra. As a result, the Border and the other security forces have stepped up their game.
