Suspects seen near Raghunath temple; police scans through hotels

Jammu, August 20: As reports flowed in yesterday about the presence of suspects near Jammu city’s most famous temple, Raghunath Mandir, the police visibly lost all calm disposition and ran a search operation through various hotels in and around the city. J&K Police, alongwith CRPF men scanned through most hotels in the vicinity of the temple gathering information about the check-ins. After the search operation, however, no suspect was found.

On Friday afternoon, security agencies informed the senior officials in J&K Police about the presence of suspicious men in Hari Market area that adjoins Raghunath Temple.

After receiving the inputs, police sent in a team of men combined with CRPF jawans for a recce through city’s hotels. The identification proofs of different people who had checked into hotels recently were examined. To not set panic across the city areas, the men were sent in civil dressing.

Men of the CID were also a part of this search operation which was called a routine exercise by SSP Jammu Dr. Sunil Gupta.
