Suspense to get over; PDP-BJP likely to meet

Srinagar, January 16: It’s been more than a week after the unforeseen death of state’s former Chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and according to sources the suspense on government formation is going to get over soon as members of both BJP and PDP are likely to meet soon to decide over them matter.

Sources inside both the parties claim that both the parties are open to communication and now when the eight-day mourning period is over, there are possibilities that a high level meeting will happen soon which will result in a decision over government formation.

It is worthwhile to mention here, on Thursday, Finance Secretary RP Watal and the architect of Rs 80,000-crore development package had met Mehbooba to inform about the fast release of the package which was centre’s effort for reaching out to Mehbooba

Mehbooba, who is reported to have toughened her stance over the alliance, has also decided to first review the progress of the Agenda of Alliance before making any such decision. It was also reported that PDP has set some conditions for alliance with BJP including a promise over the timely implementation of the components of Agenda of  Alliance.

The sources added that formal and informal meetings within both the parties have been happening and senior leader of PDP and MP Muzaffar Beig, who was upset with PDP-BJP functioning earlier, is now seen participating in these meetings.
