Jammu, October 01: Seven Former officials of Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education have been booked by State Vigilance Organisation with an allegation of causing huge loss to the state exchequer. The accused involved is former JKBOSE Chairman Sheikh Bashir Ahmad and ex-Deputy Secretary Haneef along with a contractor.
A case was registered against these seven officials after Vigilance Organisation Kashmir (VOK) conducted a verification into the charges of withdrawal of huge amount of department money with respect to the distribution of confidential material of Class XII examination during the November-December annual regular – 2012 session in Kashmir division through various non-existent vehicles.
A number of other officials who were involved in this conspiracy have been identified – Joint Secretary Rouf Ahmad; then Head Assistant Manzoor Ahmad; Section Officer Satnam Singh; and the then Senior Assistant, Estates Wing of the JKBOSE, Sheikh Mushtaq Ahmad. Also, the contractor involved is recognized as Farooq Ahmad Kawoosa resident of Bulbul Lankar Nawakadal in Srinagar.
