SRINAGAR, OCTOBER 5:- The J&K State Social Welfare Board is mulling establishment of Toys Bank for the toddlers of under privileged sections of the society.
This was stated by Chairperson J&K State Social Welfare Board(SWD) Dr Nirmal Gupta while chairing a meeting of the board.
Since there is no provision existing for purchase of toys, a suggestion has been made that a Toys Bank could be established, which will be utilized in Creche Centres for under privileged Children.
In case any organization or person is willing to donate toys for these lesser privileged children, they can approach the State Social Welfare Board offices, located at Old Secretariat Srinagar and Pragati Bhawan Rail Head Complex, Jammu.
The Board has so far established 694 Crèche Centers in 22 Districts of the state, where almost 17,500 children in the age group of 0-6 years are provided supplementary nutrition as well as pre primary education through play-way method.
