Mumbai: Acting reality TV show “India’s Best Cinestars Ki Khoj” saw its climax Sunday with Syed Mamoon and Oksana Rasulova emerging as winners. The victorious duo each won cash prize of Rs.50,000 from Moneygram and gift vouchers worth Rs.1 lakh from Cera Tiles.
Syed, who hails from Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, and Oksana from Azerbaijan also landed a role in Guroudev Bhalla’s movie, which will be written and supervised by director Mahesh Bhatt.
The Zee TV’s acting talent hunt show, hosted by actors Vishal Malhotra and Hussain Kuwajerwala, went on air July 5.
The finale was made memorable with performances of the contestants, as well as by the presence of actors Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor who came to promote their upcoming film “Haider”.
The actors gave a lot of impromptu challenges to the contestants to check their acting prowess.
Shraddha also crooned a song from her upcoming movie to soothe the nerves of anxious contestants.
The judges – director Vijay Krishna Acharya aka Victor, filmmaker Anurag Basu and actress Sonali Bendre – set in a celebratory mood with their special performances.
Moradabad’s Syed gave some average performances initially, but he worked on his weak points and was lauded for his consistently good performances throughout the show.
For Oksana, who hails from a different country Azerbaijan, grasping Hindi pronunciation and diction was tough. But she swept away the audiences and judges with her acting and dancing skills inter-woven with grit and determination.
The finale also witnessed stellar performances by dancers Lauren Gottlieb and Dharmesh better known as ‘Dharmesh sir’.
The winners had to fight it out with other finalists – Meenu Panchal, Akshay Nalawade, Bhawna Barthwal Dhoundiyal and Vikram Chatterjee.
The grand finale was aired in two parts on Saturday and Sunday.
