Jammu, January 09: There is going to be no talks over the process of formation of government until January 10, the day of ‘congregational fateha’ of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and the process will start, a day after i.e. on Monday, January 11.
There are speculations on new additions into the council of ministers and a probable change in Cabinet. However, ‘Agenda of the Alliance’ is likely to remain unchanged and majority of Council of Ministers would also be retained. The top leaders of state government have said that The PDP Legislature Party will meet only after Sunday to elect party president and Mufti’s daughter, Mehbooba Mufti as the Legislature Party leader. The talks with BJP will be formalized after Sunday, the day after ‘congregational fateha’ of Mufti Sayeed and then Mehbooba will be elected as the joint member of state legislative assembly.
Once the decision has been made jointly by the both parties in alliance, then only they will approach the Governor to talk over the formation of government with the list of supporting MLAs including those of PDP, BJP, People’s Conference of Sajjad Lone and Independents (Pawan Gupta and Hussain Rizvi).
The Governor can appoint Mehbooba as 13th Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir only after she wins support from the assembly. After that, she can convey to the Governor timing and venue for taking oath as the new Chief Minister of the State.
The sources have also confirmed that so far no party has sent any letter of support to the Raj Bhawan on the Government formation. It can be done only after Mehbooba is elected PDP Legislature Party leader.
Mehbooba was not ready to take oath as the Chief Minister of J&K until ‘congregational fateha’ of her father was performed as is known now. Besides, a senior PDP leader and MLA Baramulla, Muzaffar Hussain Beigh has said that no politics is more important than the human sentiments and there should be no pressure on Mehbooba to take oath at this point of time even if it calls for Governor’s Rule in the state at this time.
Beigh further said, “Mehbooba and her family members are in deep shock. She has lost her father. How can we expect her to be taking oath at this time?”
