Srinagar, March 28: The officials yesterday issued a circular to all the institutions directing teachers to perform or face action, after the Directorate School Education, Kashmir, suspended the entire teaching staff of a school in Srinagar for there Harshness.

The circular has been issued after the officials of the Education Department paid a surprise visit to Government Girls High School in Bemina on March 25 and found all the teachers resting in the staff room even as more than hundred students were sitting idle.

Director, School Education, Kashmir, Shah Faesal yesterday said that academic monitoring is required to bring accountability among the teachers in government-run schools.

Shah Saesal also said tha, since the focus is on developing and educating, it’s not enough that teachers come to school just to mark their attendance. They will have to show results. We have issued a circular to all the schools in this regard. The schools will have to get their tour diaries attested by cluster heads to get salary.

Teachers must focus on developing minimum learning levels, particularity in English maths and science. If a child is accuring minimum learning competencies, action will be taken against the whole staff, said an official.

Strict action would be taken against people who take their duty for granted, added the official.
