Jammu and Kashmir News
Srinagar, June 24 : The Department of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has announced incentives, including promotions, for all those teachers whose students would excel in Class 10 exams, provincially. The Government has started this initiative in order improve the eroding standards of government schools in the region.
As per the announcement made by the Director of School Education, Shah Faesal, the entire teaching staff of the school with the State topper or Province level topper would be rewarded with out-of-turn promotions. Along with upgrade, they would be given postings of their choice. As per the Director, the scheme would first be implemented in Kashmir where the session ends in November and then be continued in Jammu. This step has been taken in order to provide stimulus for the school administration, thus, implying better performance.
The Education Minister of State, Naeem Akhtar, also directed officials for special mentoring of prospective toppers in all schools while announcing incentives for the teachers.
Reacting to the development, the teachers have welcomed the step of reform taken by the education system in Kashmir. However, they have mentioned that the benefit should not only be for the schools producing toppers only, rather it should be extended to the schools getting 100 per cent results. This would further motivate the teachers to focus on all students equally not just one student.
