Anchar Lake was the main lake for fishing in Srinagar city which was used by fisherman of the valley. The lake is on the death bed and is on the verge of extinction due to land encroachment. The fishermen who are living around this lake use this for their fishing. The fisherman usually earn Rs 200/day approximately for their living.
State authority and Lakes and Water Ways Development Authority (LAWDA) are trying hard to return the forgotten glory to Anchar Lake and the locals who depend on it.
