Jammu : Monsoon weather lit up the sky over the city late in the evening on Tuesday.
The rainy weather was accompanied by colossal storms that teared up everything on its way, including the facilities at the Government Medical College. The hospital which housed several critically severe patients was turned upside down by the air blast.
The sign boards dismounted, the fans in the OPD were crushed, not to mention the trees that came down and got in the way. The powerful gusts flipped the led boards and wreaked havoc on people’s properties, even damaging the ambulance.

Meanwhile, in the city thunderstorm brought heavy flood-like situations to the roads, knocked power out for thousands and damaged trees, vehicles and homes.
While it brought respite from the day’s scorching heat, the people woke to a pleasant morning but were soon struggling to reach their workplaces and move out of their houses, as the rains uprooted trees at many places, blocking many roads and causing massive traffic snarls.
