Prominent legal luminary and president of the women wing of Peoples Democratic Party Safina Baig on Tuesday said that students are at the forefront of political and social movements that have the opportunity to reshape society in positive ways by upending the status quo, from violence to peace reform in the society.
“We want to invest in your education and future because of it you can change your destiny and can free this world, country and state of unrest,” Safina Baig said while addressing college students.
She said that challenging the status-quo works best when you are able to articulate why your approach is the better one.
She hailed the young generation stressing that the immense energy of youth power can change the fate of the country. Safina Baig handed over the keys of one bus for female students of the college and one ambulances to college administration out of Members of Parliament Local Area Development Scheme (MPLADS) funds of Muzaffar Hussain Baig , Member Parliament. “He (Muzzaffar Baig) has given an amount of Rs one crore from his MPLADS fund for the development works of this area,” she said.
“There is always something to learn during any sort of conversation with young generation. I always try to meet more youth, talk and listen to their experiences and to work according to their hopes and aspiration, for education is the key to unlocking opportunity for our children. Whether it is learning the basics of running a business, gaining a special skill or pursuing a particular profession – our education determines our destiny,” she said.
Later Safina Baig met the various women delegation of the area who apprised her about their problems. She assured them that she took their grievance to appropriate authority for early redressal.
