After the three drives in Jammu, Srinagar and Udhampur under the special industry initiative for Jammu and Kashmir called Udaan will start in Kupwara tomorrow. This drive is to last two days, i.e. 18 and 19 Feb and is a special initiative to scout for fresh talent across Jammu and Kashmir.
Under this initiative, more than ten corporate firms, which fall in the domains of finance, tourism, human resource, construction, automation and information technology, will be looking to recruit fresh talent from the border district of Kupwara.
This extensive drive that spans to over two-months is also to cover far flung areas in the state that include Samba, Sopore, Baramulla, Kathua, Reasi and Doda.
The initial three drives in Jammu, Srinagar and Kathua saw a huge response from the students. Close to 2400 students have been selected and many more from the final year of their academic sessions were shortlisted for selection.
Udaan is based on recommendations of the Rangarajan Committee to setup a progressive programme for the training of youths from Jammu and Kashmir by corporate stationed in different parts of the country and making these youths employable.
Till now 63 Corporates have associated themselves with Udaan with a commitment to train 74,000 youths from the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Some of the big names in the list of participating corporate are Tata Consultancy Services, Reliance, CMC, Ligare, Tata Motors, Yes Bank, Canara Bank etc.
