More than 08 Lac rupees realized from traffic violators

Srinagar June, 25: Senior Superintendent of Police Traffic City Srinagar, Shri Maqsood-ul-Zaman said that we are trying our best to maintain zero tolerance towards the traffic violations and the officers under my command and control will act strictly against the traffic violators particularly visible offences.
The traffic city team has been geared up to make hassle free movement of traffic inspite lot of constraints. An amount of about Eight Lac Rupees (08 Lac) has been realized from the traffic violators as compound fine in the last week.
The SSP said that in the last week 1100 Motorcycles have been challaned with a fine amount of more than 01 Lac and 120 two wheelers were seized. Besides more than 400 drivers were booked for using mobile phone and driving without seat belts with a fine amount of 50,000. Meanwhile more than 400 passenger vehicles were seized under the offences of wrong parking, overloading and wrong stops.
A total of 3300 vehicles have been booked under different laws of Motor Vehicle Act and an amount of more than Eight Lac rupees has been realized from these violators as compound fine.
Traffic City Srinagar requests the general public particularly the teenagers riding two wheelers without crash helmet to obey traffic laws.
