Traffic restored on Jammu-Srinagar national highway, Mughal road closed


RAMBAN: Following hours-long closure due to shooting stones, the traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway was restored on Wednesday morning. The traffic movement was disrupted following shooting stones near Digdol and Panthyal in Ramban district.

Around 0700 hours in the morning, the traffic movement was closed after shooting stones occurred at Digdol and Panthyal. However, the men and machinery were put on force and with the strenuous efforts, the thoroughfare was restored for one way traffic.

Meanwhile, Mughal road, connecting twin districts of Poonch and Rajouri with south Kashmir’s Shopian district was also closed for vehicular traffic following a landslide on the thoroughfare.

The landslides occurred at Mansar Mohre, Poshana and Chattapani areas.
