Train from Jammu to Delhi catches fire near Kathua

Jammu, 19 June: Unconfirmed reports say that the train going from Jammu to Anand Vihar in New Delhi has caught fire at Hira Nagar near Kathua. The C-5 bogeys of the sleeper class has been reported to have caught fire. At the time of reporting there was no news on loss of life.

The train left for Delhi after removal of the damaged coach.

All passengers were safely evacuated.

A police officer told U4UVoice that the burning coach was quickly detached from the rest of the train. “The fire was apparently triggered by an electrical short circuit.”
