Train service suspended in Kashmir


Baramulla: Due to the massive protest against the rape of a 3-year-old girl in Bandipora, the train services have been suspended on Srinagar Baramulla track as a precautionary measure.

“We have suspended train services between Srinagar-Baramulla in north Kashmir for security reasons,” a railway official said.

The decision was taken by local administration in view of the protest and shutdown in Kashmir valley.

However, trains continued to chug on Budgam-Srinagar-Islamabad – Qazigund in south Kashmir to Banihal to Jammu region as per schedule, officials said.
