Srinagar, August 10: The State Cabinet which has not met from the past two and a half months is likely to meet next week under the chairmanship of Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and is likely to order transfers and postings in the police and civil administration besides clearing the routine administrative agenda.
A senior cabinet minister wishing anonymity told that though there is not much pending administrative agenda, the Cabinet is likely to meet next week. “Wrong notion is being created that the Cabinet is not meeting because of the differences between the coalition partners. I can tell you that there is a good understanding between the coalition partners. The Cabinet will meet next week and the agenda of the cabinet is likely to order transfers and postings in the civil and police administration,” the minister said.
Sources told that while the much awaited Cabinet meeting will affect the reshuffle in administration and police, the fate of three officials Dr G.N. Qasba, Tariq Ali Mir and Talat Parvez posted with the General Administration Department by the Government recently is likely to be touched.
If sources are to be believed then the government is also likely to transfer Director Tourism Farooq Ahmad Shah and appoint him as Secretary Tourism.
