Jammu Police has arrested a fruit trader from Delhi in a cheating case of Rs 70 lakh. For three years, he had been giving fools to the police. After arresting the police, he was produced in court and taken on remand for ten days.
Salim Qureshi, a resident of Baraut in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh, came in contact with Jagdish Raj, a resident of Janipur. In the year 2015, buying and selling of fruits started between the two. However, when Qureshi became outstanding with Rs 70 lakh, he stopped picking up Jagdish Raj’s phone calls. Jagdish Raj asked him for money several times, but he started threatening to kill him. He also said that if he comes to Baraut, he will kill him.
Jagdish Raj complained to the police in this regard. Police raided many places to arrest the accused. The police went to many areas, including Uttar Pradesh and Delhi, several times regarding the FIR registered in 2019, but he kept giving up. Finally, police got information that he was in Delhi’s Mudrika area.
The police approached the Mudrika police station and asked them to keep a watch on the accused. During this, the Trikuta Nagar Police Station team reached Delhi and, with the help of Delhi Police, arrested the accused. SSP Jammu Chandan Kohli said a special team was sent to Delhi under the station’s leadership in charge of Deepak Pathania to arrest the accused.
