Srinagar: After the removal of Article 370, there is another new twist in the valley. Though the PDP and the National Conference (NC) have been political enemies for a long time, the close proximity of the two parties has taken place since the army’s additional deployment in Jammu and Kashmir. Subsequent to the removal of Article 370, the top leaders of both parties were put under house arrest.
PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti and NC Deputy Prime Minister Omar Abdullah got into a tussle during the house arrest. The argument escalated so much that the two leaders had to separate. The reason for this argument was that the two leaders were accusing each other of bringing BJP to fruition and flourishing in the valley.
During this time, Omar Abdullah taunted Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to form an alliance with BJP in 2015 and 2018. After this, a fierce speech-war broke out between the two. Mehbooba Mufti also attributed Omar to his grandfather Sheikh Abdullah for the merger of Jammu and Kashmir in 1947. As a result, both had to be separated.
Mehbooba attacked Omar, reminding him that his father Farooq Abdullah had formed an alliance in the government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Officials also say that during that time you were Junior Minister for External Affairs.
