JAMMU: Acting on specific information, a team of Police Post Banganga led by SI Vinod Sharma, I/C PP Banganga under the supervision of Inspector Kuldeep Krishan, SHO P/S Katra, Dr. Ashok Sharma,KPS SDPO Katra, Sh. Sumir Kotwal,KPS Addl.SP Katra and overall supervision of Sh. Sujit Kumar,IPS SSP Reasi conducted raid in general area of Droor Tehsil Katra and apprehended two gamblers namely (1) Bhushan Singh S/O Chain Singh R/O Daroor Tehsil Katra District Reasi and (2) Bittu Singh S/O Krishan Singh R/O Ladda Pancheri District Udhampur while playing cards at Droor. On seeing Police, their other associates escaped, who were also involved in gambling.
Both the accused were booked under 13 Gambling Act. The stake amount of Rs.1850/- alongwith playing cards were seized from them. Both the accused persons are working as Ponywallas at the track from Banganga to Bhawan.
Meanwhile, to strengthen the Police Public relations and to bring people nearer to the Police for better output in prevention, detection of crime and solve the problems of general public, the below mentioned two public meetings were held on the directions of Sh. Sujit Kumar,IPS SSP Reasi.
First police-public meeting at village Chana of Tehsil Chassana held by Sub-Inspector Jasvinder Choudhary, SHO P/S Chassana under the supervision of Sh. Ayaz Ahmed,KPS SDPO Mahore.
Second police-public meeting at village Bhagot Khalsa of Tehsil Pouni held by Inspector J.J. Bhagat, SHO P/S Pouni alongwith I/C PP Bhambla under the supervision of Sh.Mohan Lal,KPS Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi.
These meetings were attended by large number of respectable persons of these areas. At the outset of these meetings, the participants were welcomed by the chairing Police officers, appreciated the participants for sparing their valuable time to attend these meetings and requested them to put forth their genuine problems. Among them many persons have spoken in the meeting and praised the work of Police in these areas and they also assured their full support & participation in tackling any unlawful or untoward incident. Various public issues and problems raised by the participants were discussed in these meetings pertaining to different departments. The grievances of all the participants were heard patiently and they were assured that their genuine demands will be communicated to the concerned senior officers for redressal.
