Two youths nabbed with contraband in Jammu

Police on Saturday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 20 gms contraband (Chitta) from their possession.
Giving details, SSP Rayess Mohd Bhat said on a tip off, Udhampur Police Party led by SHO Udhampur under the supervision of Dy SP (HQ) Kulbir Handa, laid a Naka at Omara Chowk in Udhampur.

During Naka checking, police apprehended three suspect youth boarded in a car allegedly on a mission of suppling contraband to local handler.
During search, police recovered 20gms Chita from accused youths identified as Pritam Kumar son of Chani Ram and Pankaj Kumar son of Kaka Ram resident of Omara locality, Udhmpur. A case vide FIR No.447/2018 under section 8/21 NDPS Act was registered against them.
It was disclosed that since Kulbir Handa took charge of DySP (HQ) Police action was expedited to tightened the noose around smugglers and anti social elements in Udhampur to save youths from drug menace.
Police is also working on the involvement of intra-state narcotic smugglers in the illegal drug nexus menace operating from district Udhampur, added SSP Rayees Mohd Bhat Udhampur.
