U4UVoice Impact: J&K HC comes to rescue of Govt. school
Jammu, Dec 14: In the wake of demolition of school building to construct parking space, Jammu and Kashmir High Court today came to the rescue of the aggrieved students and restrained the state for closing any government school here.
Chief Justice of Jammu and Kashmir High Court Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar, on the basis of news carried by the media both electronic and print regarding closure of government school for the purpose of parking, treated the case as Public Interest Litigation under the name of Court and listed before the Bench.
A Division Bench comprising the Chief Justice himself and Justice Dhiraj Singh Thakur after hearing Advocate General Jehangir Iqbal Ganai with AAG Ravinder Gupta, restrained state from closing any government school, which are functioning as on date and if any school is to be closed for any valid reason(s), permission from this Court be obtained.
