Vijay Kumari belongs to Chachwal village near the International border in R.S.Pura. Almost 20 years ago she was injured a during the cross border firing by the Pakistani Rangers.
Vijay was hit right at her spinal cord in 1997 when Pakistani forces were firing.The injury paralyzed her from waist below. Since then, she has been struggling to get medical attention and lead a normal life.
Chairman of a Social Service, Deepak Aggrawal, has pursued the State BJP President, MLA and representative of Jammu West, Sat Sharma along with Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board’s Chief Executive Officer, Ajeet Kumar Sahu.
Due to the active participation of both Sahu and Sat Sharma, Vijay has had free checkup at the newly built Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayan Hospital. As per the doctors, Vijay would be provided physiotherapy assistance for about three months. And after the therapy, specialists from outside the state would be asked to perform a surgery on her.
According to the doctors of Narayana Hospital, due to the delay in her treatment, Vijay’s spinal cord has already been severely injured.
