Udhampur petrol bomb attack: Police arrest two main culprits
Udhampur, December 04: Police claims to arrest three people in connection with Udhampur petrol bomb attack, which took place in October this year. The attack which led to the death of the Kashmiri trucker caused a major humdrum in the state. The police have now arrested three people, including one sarpanch of a village in Udhampur .
The duo arrested by police has been identified as Amit Singh, s/o Hem Raj and Balram Singh aka Pankaj s/o Kirpal Singh, both of whom are the residents of Udhampur. Police has also revealed that Amit is a medical student pursuing degree from Nar Singh Medico College.
As per reports in a local daily, the Sarpanch of Subash Nagar area of Udhampur has also been arrested for providing shelter to the duo.
During interrogations, police found out that the while attacking the Kashmir bound truck on October 9, Amit and Pankaj fiorst broke the front glass and then a petrol bomb inside it due to which three persons, including a police man, sustained injuries. Pertinently, one of the two persons Zahid, who had sustained severe burn injuries succumbed to his injuries in New Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital.
During investigation, police rounded up five persons and upon further disclosure the main culprits were arrested.
