Un-electrified villages to be electrified under RGGVKY: Vikar
SRINAGAR : Minister of State for Technical Education, Mr. Vikar Rasool has said that all un-electrified villages of the State would be electrified under RGGVKY very soon.
The Minister was speaking at a public gathering at Bandipora today.
Mr. Vikar said that in order to augment the power infrastructure in the State several measures have been undertaken which have gone a long way in improving the overall power scenario. He said that major towns and other areas would be taken up under APDRP so that the augmentation of electric supply is ensured in these.
The Minister said that the present government with the liberal assistance from the centre has undertaken several welfare measures which have no parallels in the annals of the history. He said care has been taken to ensure sustained development of every region of the State without giving any preferential treatment to any particular area.
Referring to the historical decision of creating new districts in the State, the Minister said that the creation of districts has ensured speedy and sustained development of several far flung areas. He said several developmental programmes initiated by previous government have been carried forward by the present one as well.
Former Minister Mr. Usman Majid also spoke on the occasion.
