US reports 23 most active Hizb email accounts; 11 are active from Pakistan


The United States has confirmed the most active 23 Hizb email accounts that are being operated from different locations.  Out of the 23 email accounts operating in Kashmir, 11 are active from Pakistan and the rest in US, as per the 78 page report by the department.  The report said that all these operatives are suspected Hizbul Mujahideen cadre and much of this information was collected during the probe of suspected HM front, the J&K Affectees Relief Trust. It also says that India has already taken up case of HM head Syed Salahuddin with the United Nations. The report says that the National Investigation Agency is carrying out the probe. Also, the report highlights the use of same Pakistani mobile numbers in the contact information.

The US report details 139 conversations, including some of the email accounts that have been active since 2007. One of the emails sent by HM militant on December 6, 2013 shows an attachment of a list of Pakistani prisoners in Indian jails.

Another email titled as Cofidential Army Report on LET April 2014 has a message, “Yeh Indian Army ki confidential report hai hamare Lashkar-e-toiba aur Mujahideen par. Jarur dekhe aur Satark rahe.”
