Valley boy’s killers untraceable, CB closes investigation
Srinagar: The Crime Branch has closed its investigation of a teenager Tufail Matoo who was killed five years ago in June 2010 by declaring the ‘culprits as un-traced’. The crime branch investigated the matter following the direction of High Court.
Earlier, in December 2012, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Jammu and
Kashmir Police also closed the investigation by declaring the culprits untraced which was challenged by the family before High Court. The High Court reopened the case investigation and handed over the case to Crime Branch.
Pertinent to mention here that Tufail Matoo, a teenager was returning his home after taking tuition when Police fired a teargas which was allegedly hit him and he died on the spot and a large scale protests were held in the Valley following Matoo’s death.
