Van rolls down 150 ft. in Bichleri river, Army rescues 3 persons, 2 injured, 1 died
On 26 February 2015, a Van carrying four persons travelling from Jammu to Anantnag, while reaching at Sherbibi on NH 44 met with an accident due to landslide and rolled down about 150 ft in Bichleri River. Two rescue parties of troops of Delta Force of Army based at Nachlana and Banihal rushed to the accident site.
With all rescue stores the troops of Delta Force in coordination with police, evacuated three persons out of them two were injured and one had died on the spot. The deceased person is identified as Mr. Gulam Kadir s/o Gulam Md, age 50 years. The fourth person Mr. Jahid Ahmed s/o Gulam Mohd resident of Verinag district Anantnag is still reported missing and search operation is still on. The other two passengers named Mr. Shayaz Ahmed s/o Gulam Kadar, resident of Verinag and Mr. Javed Ahmed Shiekh s/o Gulam Hussain also resident of Verinag were given first aid and immediately rushed to Banihal Hospital post rescue.
