This was stated by the Minister while addressing a public rally at Kulgam today. Minister for Rural Development, Advocate Abdul Haq Khan, Minister of State for PHE, Abdul Majid Padder were also present on the occasion.
Mr. Veeri said the youth have become partners in the movement launched by PDP for establishing a new system of justice and transparency in the state. He said the PDP has become the first choice of the state’s young population given its staunch pro-youth agenda.
Stressing on the youth to strive for change within the system, Minister said the present government is expected to involve youth as the harbinger of change that can usher in a new era of peace, prosperity and development in Jammu and Kashmir.
The Minister said that present coalition government is the only dispensation in the state that has formulated a separate Youth Development Policy for the welfare of the youth and start working on its implementation.
He said the present dispensation will address the mounting unemployment problem by starting engaging the unemployed educated youth on contractual basis. “Since the recruitment done by boards is cumbersome and time consuming process, the government must take immediate measures to address the unemployment and contractual appointments can be one step in that direction,” Veeri observed.
Speaking on the occasion, Rural Development Minister, Abdul Haq Khan said that development and welfare of people is prime priority of present government and said government will initiate pro-youth measures and make them a part of the movement for making a prosperous and new Kashmir envisioned by Mufti Mohammad Sayeed.
Minister of State for PHE, Abdul Majid Padder in his address said that government will act on a strategy to support the young people in developing their potential, to improve their living conditions and give them greater responsibilities in political decision-making processes. He said “PDP believes that the youth of J&K have the right to seek meaningful employment, participation in decision-making that affects their lives, and protection from socio-economic and political exploitation”.
