The security forces on Thursday gunned down two Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) terrorists in an operation in which eight security personnel, including a DSP, were also injured. The anti-terror operation was being conducted in Jhajjar Kotli forest belts of Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district. One more terrorist is believed to be trapped near a house in Reasi district’s Kakriyal area.
The encounter broke out after the security forces launched a cordon and search operation and located the terrorists near a house. Security personnel from the CRPF, police, and the Army were involved in the operation. Drones and helicopters were also being used in the operation.
A villager informed security forces that the three terrorists had forcibly entered his house last night. “Three terrorists entered my house at around 8 pm yesterday and threatened us not to tell anyone about them. They said they had not eaten for the past five days and took biscuits and apples from us. They were wearing torn clothes and were carrying arms. They also took clothes from us. They asked us for a car and offered money but we do not have a car. Soon after, they left,” he said.
The terrorists were wearing combat dress when they entered the civilian’s house.
