VIDEO: A drive through India’s longest tunnel
Jammu, March 20: With just a few days left for the inauguration of India’s longest tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir, the authotities have deemed it wise to shut the tunnel till it’s formal inauguration.
The tunnel will reduce the distance between Chenani and Nashri from 41 km to 11 km boosting the all weather road connectivity between Jammu and Srinagar. The tunnel will bypass Patnitop, Kud and Batote and will reduce traffic jams in winter. PM Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate the tunnel in coming week.
For LMV (Light Motor Vehicles), the passenger will have to pay Rs 55/-. And, Rs 85/- will be charged in case of return journey. A monthly fare of Rs 1870/- will be charged for LMV.
Whereas, for vehicles such as Mini-bus, passenger will need to pay Rs 90/-. For return journey he’ll need to pay Rs 135/-
Similarly, heavy vehicles such as bus and trucks, a sum of Rs 190/- will be charged for an onward journey, whereas Rs 285/- will be charged for return-journey.
