Jammu, 15th February: MLC and Trustee J&K Dharmarth Trust, Vikramaditya Singh hosted the maiden visit of Mr. Bob Blackman to Jammu while on his tour of India. Vikramaditya Singh hosted a tea party in honour of the M.P. and his wife at Amar Mahal Palace & Museum where they interacted with prominent citizens, senior political leaders, educationalists, members of the business community, ex-servicemen and media-persons of Jammu. This provided an opportunity for greater interaction and exchanges between the M.P. and prominent citizens of Jammu on current affairs of the state.
Vikramaditya Singh presented the honourable M.P. with a book containing a reproduction of miniature paintings from the Basohli School of Art which are housed and exhibited at the Amar Mahal Museum. In his brief and informal address, Bob Blackman extended his hand in support of important issues concerning the state including; developing ties between Jammu & Kashmir and the United Kingdom, while also raising the international awareness of J&K. He also laid emphasis on the need for furthering peaceful co-existence of the diverse communities of people in the state.
A day before, the M.P. had visited the holy shrine of Mata Kheer Bhawani in Srinagar facilitated by J&K Dharmarth Trust. His itinerary also includes a visit to Sri Raghunath Ji Mandir, Jammu and the Sanskrit Library known for its rare collection of ancient manuscripts. Mr. Bob Blackman is a Member of Parliament from the United Kingdom and a Conservative Party Politician. He is the champion and advocate of Jammu & Kashmir amongst the Indian diaspora in the UK.
