Jammu, November 20: Member of Legislative Council (MLC) and senior PDP leader Vikramaditya Singh on Thursday hailed Centre’s decision of raising the relief provided to migrants of hilly areas of Jammu Region at par with the relief provided to the migrant Kashmiri Pandits.
Vikramaditya Singh said, “We hail the Centre’s decision to raise the relief given to Jammu migrants at par with Kashmiri Pandit migrants.”
According to this senior PDP leader, these families who have migrated from the higher reaches of Jammu hills are affected very badly after leaving homes and belongings there because of militancy. It is very important to understand their plight and provide them help in every way possible.
“This decision signifies the Government of India’s recognition of the miserable plight of these people,” he added.
Also, as per Vikramaditya, grand son of Maharaja Hari Singh and son of Congress Leader Dr Karan Singh, the central government should also address the Talwara migrant’s issue in district Reasi and other such issues which were raised by him on several occasions and forums.
He is very happy that the Mufti Mohammed Sayeed-led coalition government in J&K have managed to provide a substantial relief package for migrants who have been living in appalling conditions for years.
Furthur, Vikramaditya also hailed the decision of the J-K government of finalising the sites for setting up of two AIIMS in J&K. He said this was in keeping with the aspirations of public in both regions and will go a long way in providing much awaited quality healthcare to them.
