Jammu, 20 June: Social networking application WhatsApp has provided a platform to spread news quickly along with personal views which spread faster than on any other medium today. The problem that arises on WhatsApp is many truths become untruths and untruths (rumours) become facts and there is no way that one can ascertain the reality.
A letter that has gone viral on WhatsApp in Kishtwar region claims life threat from Kishtwar MLA and Minister Sunil Sharma. The letter, which seemingly is written by the Chief Agriculture Officer is addressed to the Senior Superintendent of Police and requests security from the officer. For the sake of proof, the officer’s personal number is also available in the letter.
According to media reports, when the number in the message was called up a Sunil Kapahi, who took the call validated that the letter was written by him asking for security.
Content of the Letter
Sunil Kapahi has claimed in the letter that he is headed towards Kishtwar on Monday (today) in the morning driving his Nano Car bearing registration number JK02BA 4131. If anything happens to him on the way, the persons named above would be responsible.
SSP Kishtwar Says
Various media houses have contacted SSP Kishtwar, Sandeep Wazir, who said that he had not received any formal request in the regard and confirmed that he read the WhatsApp message as well.
