UDHAMPUR, JULY 16:- District administration Udhampur has issued a weather advisory for general public as well as for the Amarnath Yatris, as the weather is likely to deteriorate on July 17 and July 18 in the District.
The Administration has advised the people not to venture in Landslide/avalanche-prone areas, near rivers and nallahs during the period to avoid any untoward incident due to coming up of heavy rain in some parts of the district. The People are also advised to take all necessary precautions and avoid unnecessary travelling during this period.
All the concerned departments related to Disaster management were directed to remain alert during the period.
The District Collector has also issued directions to the officers to activate their men and machinery and to ensure that there is no disruption of Shri Amarnath ji Yatra, essential services, power supply, water supply and health care services. He has also directed for taking necessary steps to ensure adequate stock of essential commodities besides directions were conveyed to all the quarters to take requisite precautionary steps for avoiding any untoward incident.
