West Pak refugees to be absorbed in Army: Defence Minister
Jammu, December 19: Country’s Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar has assured West Pak refugees that they will be given a opportunity to take part in the Army recruitment rallies.
The minister made this statement during his recent with the West Pak refugees leaders. He said, ” Till now, West Pak refugees were not allowed to participate in recruitment rallies of the central forces because they didn’t have domicile certificates and permanent resident certificates. But now after thinking a lot over the issue, centre has decided to fulfill their long pending demand to serve in Indian Army. ”
The meeting was held the banner of West Pakistan Refugee Action Committee. While regretting for not giving chance to the youth of these families earlier, Manohar Parrikar said that he will talk about the issue in the upcoming cabinet meeting on December 20.
He added that due to non-availability of domicile certificate, refugee youth were not allowed to participate in recruitment rallies. The cabinet will surely come up with some solution for that.
