Sonu Nigam tweets against use of loudspeakers at religious places

Popular Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam was forced to wake up early on Monday, 17 April morning courtesy the morning azaan on a loudspeaker from a nearby mosque. The famed singer who was deprived of his sleep, disappointed, tweeted this out:

“God bless everyone. I’m not a Muslim and I have to be woken up by the Azaan in the morning. When will this forced religiousness end in India.”

The tweet quickly caught fire that soon became a conflagration. He tweeted again to compensate for the misunderstandings that emerged from his first tweet.

Sonu is now facing severe backlash on social media for making such a statement as it has not gone down well with a section of people.
