Will Ola, Uber turn alternate of Auto rickshaws?

Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu has asked for the proposal of implementing and bringing Ola and Uber in Jammu and Kashmir which will ease the life of locals to a great extent. But the question arises, will this be an alternative for auto rickshaws. With the overcharging by auto-rickshaws drivers, the facility of mobile app taxies can bring relief to the people. But this can be only acceptable if the cost or prices are low.

Since the day, Transport Department tightened noose over illegitimate practice of overcharging, auto rickshaw operators have gone on rampage. They are demanding Rs. 50 minimum meter down charge, and setting up prepaid booths at Railway Station Jammu. Popular online mobile app services Ola and Uber will be an alternative to save people and tourists from fleecing by Auto rickshaw operators.

In Jammu City, approximately 2, 600 auto rickshaws are running on roads, but fleecing has become daily routine that has left passengers vexed. People are also welcoming this step of Department and hoping for its early beginning in the State.
