Srinagar, September 9: As the unrest continues to suspend daily life in Kashmir, it will be a challenging task for the Jammu and Kashmir State Board of School Education (JKBOSE) to conduct 10th and 12th board exams this time.
For the last two months about 15 lakh students have been affected due to the turmoil in the Valley. Schools are still closed, students have not even completed 50 per cent of their syllabus and the annual exams are less than a month away.
Last year 10th board exams had begun in November and the 12th board exams lasted till December. This year also the board was going to start exams in November but keeping in mind the current situation in Kashmir, it is impossible for JKBOSE to start carry out exams till normalcy returns in the Valley.
Some private coaching centres along with students have shifted to Jammu to continue their classes.
The educational institutions were closed for the annual summer break on July 1 across the Valley. The break was extended up to July 25 due to the turmoil.
