SRINAGAR: A distressed wife ended her life by jumping into Sindh river two days after her husband died in a road accident in tourist resort of Sonamarg in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, police said today.
Raziya Begum (38), according to her family members, had lost balance after her husband’s death.
Her body was recovered from Nallah Sindh near village Hayan Kangan, six km from the spot she committed suicide.
The body was handed over to her relatives after conducting post-mortem at Trauma Hospital Kangan.
SHO Gund Manzoor Ahmad said that they have taken up the investigation.
“However, it is believed that the reason behind taking such extreme step was mental depression,” he said.
