Work on Rs. 3.68 Cr. Dalwan WSS in full swing: Rather
DALWAN (BUDGAM): Maintaining that the Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah has a clear vision to develop J&K as a progressive welfare state, Minister for Finance & Ladakh Affairs, Mr. Abdul Rahim Rather today said that the state has witnessed an unprecedented era of development which shall be written in the annals of history in golden words. He said poverty alleviation and socio economic emancipation of the people is the mission of the present.
Addressing a public gathering at Dardpora & Dalwan villages in Chrar-i-Sharief constituency, Mr. Rather said that during last five and a half years of the present Government there has been a discernable improvement in every sphere of life adding that the state is treading towards a big socio economic transformation.
Responding to the demands of locals, Mr. Rather announced that drinking water supply scheme, Dalwan, coming up at a cost of Rs. 3.68 crores would be commissioned shortly adding that out of 11 Kms long pipeline, work on 6 Kms long pipeline stands already completed. The water supply scheme will overcome drinking water shortage in Hardu Dalwan area.
Mr. Rather also announced Rs. 10 lakhs out of his Constituency Development Fund (CDF) for construction of lanes and drains in Dalwan adding that Lawaypora and Rather Mohallas of Dalwan would be linked to the main road shortly for which work has already been taken in hand.
Mr. Rather assured the people that no stone will be left unturned to come up to their expectations adding that promises made to the people are being fulfilled earnestly. He sought peoples’ whole hearted support to strengthen the hands of Omar Abdullah for steering the state into an era of lasting peace, tranquillity and prosperity.
Cautioning the people against the machinations of opportunistic political parties, Mr. Rather said conspiracies are being hatched to divide the society on religion and regional basis to satiate petty political interests. He said a political party has become a safe haven for some unscrupulous elements and tainted bureaucrats to grab power which tantamount to openly patronize the menace of corruption.
Earlier on reaching the venue, Mr. Rather was accorded a warm welcome.
