WORKSHOP ON USE OF GOOGLE IN CLASSROOMS ORGANIZED BY MODEL ACADEMY
Jammu : In order to acquaint teachers with the changing trends in education, Model academy organized a workshop on “Bringing Google to Class Room”. The resource person for the session was Dr. Dheeraj Mehrotra, an educational innovator, soft skills trainer and author. He is also the recipient of the National Teachers Award by the President of India. The workshop was attended by Mrs. Rupa Gupta Management Representative, Mr. Pramod Shrivastavs Principal, Mrs. Usha Gadoo, Vice Principal, Academics Managers, Incharges, and all the faculty of the school.
Speaking at the workshop Dr. Dheeraj said that the need of the hour was to provide students with learning experiences that take place beyond the classroom and across different time zones. In this context technology is becoming more and more integrated into education. He further said that integrating technology into the classroom helps prepare the students for the elaborate world they will face going forward. He pointed out the different ways of integrating technology into class rooms along with the benefits of using Google in teaching-learning process. He urged the teachers to be “tech-smart” and to adopt the role of facilitators who generate an interest for learning in students which is possible through innovative use of technology.
A formal vote of thanks was presented by Mr. P.K. Shrivastava, Principal. The workshop was co-ordinated by Ms. Rashmi Bhat, Smart Class Coordinator.
