World Red Cross day celebrated
To celebrate the World Red Cross Day on May 08, 2015 in the memory of Sir Jean Henry Dunant, founder of the Red Cross Movement, IRCS, Kathua started its series of activities on this year’s theme “The Fundamental Principles in Action”.
In its effort to mark the celebrations, the IRCS team Kathua under the leadership of Ashish Singh, Executive Secretary organized sessions on the seven Fundamental Principles of Red Cross which is the life line of the organization and concept of First Medical Responder. The volunteers of IRCS spent time with the inmates and shared moment of joy and compassion and also shared nutritive juices and eatables with them. They organized a hygiene and sanitation drive for the inmates of the Home for Aged and Infirm, Kathua as inmates face physical challenges to maintain it.
Earlier, IRCS Kathua had organized demonstration sessions on Fundamental Principles and FMR was decided for the staff and students of the Rajiv Gandhi Degree College (RGDC) Kathua, Mount Litera Zee School and Industrial Training Institute Kathua. The team gave demonstration to the seven Staff members, thirty students of RGD College, twelve staff members, sixty students, 20 Staff and 196 students of ITI, Kathua regarding CPR and sensitized towards lifting of the victim to minimize further harm.
The activities shall culminate on his birth anniversary i.e. on 8th May, as a commemoration to the founder of the humanitarian mission.
