Separatist leader and JKLF chief, Yasin Malik was detained today for protesting against the Jammu and Kashmir government in Lal Chowk, Srinagar. The JKLF chairman had slammed the Mufti government for not giving any space to the Hurriyat leaders in the valley. Malik had given a call for ‘jail bharo’ agitation from Friday to protest the ‘curbs’ on Hurriyat leaders. He said that Kashmiri Pandits are their brothers and can live anywhere in the state but they will not allow separate townships for them.
“We want to reach out to the people living in far flung villages but we are being detained. There is no political space,” Malik said.
