Youth slips to death on board overcrowded bus in Kashmir


A youth who was on board an overcrowded passenger bus in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district lost his life after he slipped, an official said.

Tariq Ahmed Shiekh, 25, had boarded an overloaded bus near his residence in Bugroo Khansahab.

Witnesses said Tariq was hanging from the backside iron-grill of the bus and near Krimshora he lost grip and slipped from the speedy bus. Officials said he died on thes spot.

Police after completing all the formalities handed over his body to his father Ghulam Hassan. “We have registered a case in this regard and investigation is going on,” a police official said.


People alleged that overcrowding and overloading in private and government buses has become the order of the day while the authorities are in slumber and have miserably failed to check the menace.
