Youth visits friend’s home, shot at point blank range
Jammu Sept 15: In a shocking incident, a young man was shot at point-blank range by his friend’s elder brother at Gadi Garh area in Satwari.
Gurpreet Singh, who was shot with a country -made pistol by Surinder Singh, narrowly escaped death as bullet passed right by his leg . He immediately escaped from the house and somehow managed to reach Gadi Garh police station and report the incident. In his complaint, Gurpreet Singh said that on Wednesday afternoon he came to visit his friend Vicky (younger brother of the accused) at his home in Gadi Garh.
According to police statement, Surinder does not like his younger brother Vicky’s association with Gurpreet and had lost temper when Gurpreet visited his residence.
On seeing him, the accused warned him to leave at once. But Gurpreet refused to leave and a heated argument started between them. Meanwhile, the accused took out his pistol and fired at Gurpreet.
The police has registered a case against Surinder Singh who is at present absconding. According to Manjit Singh SHO Satwari, Surinder Singh, who is out on bail these days, is a history-sheeter as several other serious criminal cases are registered against him in different police stations of the city.
